Well well well,
It's that time of the year again! Halloween is just around the corner, and I still have a costume and a half to finish.... As usual Ruby procrastinated a little on the actual making of the costumes.

I will not be going to Onicon this year for all of you lovely people who have been asking me nonstop (you know who you are <3) But Instead, I am going to [link] 's Ghouls and Games in Grapevine Texas.

For those of you who don't know, I am going with my sweetie of several months :iconxxsl4inxx: to grape vine on october 30th. If anyone wants to make plans for the 30th, I am working till nine (I think) and then probably going to a halloween party at Sl4in's house that his roomies are throwing.

"Oh Ruby" some of you are saying, "what about those costumes you're making what are they??"

Yes, I got a tad side tracked now didn't I =P Well, I am going as Skull Kid from Majora's mask [link]
And Sl4in is going as a barbarian (doubling as a fest costume)

Well, aside from the norm, I have lotsa pics to post about some progress etc. Enjoy.

Question; have you ever done any plaster casts for your projects? I thought I remember seeing something to that effect in your gallery. Maybe I'm thinking about the Judge Gabranth Helm.

I'm making an electric violin out of fiberglass, and so I'm scouring DA for help with the molding process.
:iconwarrior-wolf-ruby:
I have not done plaster casts. The helm is made out of cardboard, posterboard, and funfoam. It is painted with gesso to smooth out cracks and wrinkles. I have cast resin before. But I assume that is a different process.

How to fix Microsoft malfunctions:
1. CTRL ALT DEL
2. Close the programs
3.button mash till you get the blue screen o' death
4. Restart
5. Repeat step four ten more times
6. Reinstall windows
7. If it's still messed up after that switch to Linux
:iconrishiramraj:
Can you describe your process?
:iconwarrior-wolf-ruby:
well to cast anything you need to start with a negative mold. You make the shape of the object first (I usually use sculpey or something like that) And you pour a mold around it with a silicon solution. Then you let that dry, cut it open and remove the model. you put the pieces back together and pour the resin into the mold. let the resin cool and you've got a replica of your model.
